Acoustic pop musician Scotty James is quickly winning the hearts of fans and amassing early success following his debut album that launched his young career onto the Billboard Music Charts (2012) and won a Canadian Radio Music Award (2013) for his hit single “Wanna Be Loved”.

Following the 2011 EP release of Crazy, Scotty James delivers 7 of his best new songs on the Crayon Box Mix7ape, which is part of an original music campaign titled #demolife of an Unsigned Billboard Musician. All 7 songs on the Crayon Box Mix7ape are uniquely self produced by Scotty James, untitled, and named after a crayon colour. Each song has a unique demo music video tied to the song along with hand drawn artwork. The #demolife music campaign sends a bold statement that you don’t need big budgets to create great music campaigns. Beginning June 10, 2013, Scotty James sets out to do the unthinkable - get 1 million facebook fans in 99 days with $0 using the #demolife platform.

On the Crayon Box Mix7ape, Scotty James crosses over from soft rock ditties to acoustic/urban pop. One music blogger describes the Crayon Box Mix7ape as a “resurgence of contemporary acoustic pop that delivers Jack Johnson groove and John Mayer tone with modern R&B undertones, edgy lyrics, and the urban sexiness of Rhianna”. Scotty James is a singer songwriter whose early influence was Matt Nathanson. While his sound keeps evolving and crossing over, he still has a unique way of delivering heartfelt and soulful songs about love, heartbreaks and all the emotions that come go along with relationships.

Scotty James was discovered in 2010 by chance after he knocked on the front door of a music manager while serenading people for money. Within one year of receiving an artist development and management deal, Scotty James broke onto mainstream by landing two of his singles on major radio including winning the Bell Media Emerging Artist Award, hitting #24 on Billboard Emerging Artist, and winning a Canadian Radio Music Award for his hit single Wanna Be Loved that hit #20 in on the Mediabase Charts.
